Precautions
Swelling and bruising may occur after surgery, and how long they take to subside varies from person to person. The incision leaves a scar, and in rare cases bleeding, infection, inflammation, or left–right asymmetry may occur, which may require additional treatment. Because a brow lift involves an incision in the scalp, the forehead and scalp may feel numb for a while, and the hair around the incision line may become temporarily thinner. Please tell us at your pre-surgery consultation about any medications you take, including blood thinners such as anticoagulants, as well as any medical conditions and whether you smoke. At ETONNE, the brow lift is an endoscopic surgery that lifts the brows and the forehead together, so it is also called an endoscopic brow (forehead) lift or a forehead lift. It is a different surgery from forehead reduction, which lowers the hairline to reduce the height of the forehead, and the two are sometimes planned together depending on the diagnosis.
How is a brow lift different from upper blepharoplasty?
A brow lift raises the position of drooping brows and the forehead, while upper blepharoplasty directly removes sagging skin and fat from the upper eyelids. We examine whether heavy-looking eyes are caused by drooping brows or by sagging eyelids before deciding on the surgical method.
Where will the scar be?
