ETONNE BALANCED BODY

Full Body Liposuction

Also called Liposuction

Full body liposuction is a surgery that suctions fat accumulated in several areas of the body in a single operation to refine the lines and balance of the whole body. The areas and amount to suction are decided by analyzing your body condition, fat distribution, and skin elasticity from multiple angles, and the fat essential for maintaining the skin's elasticity is left in place. At ETONNE in Gangnam, Seoul (Gangnam-daero, Nonhyeon Station), the surgery is performed by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Cho Jeongmok.

More important than the number on the scale is the line of the body.

By accurately grasping the condition of the body and analyzing it from multiple angles, so that no strain is placed on the body,
we suction as much fat as is needed and leave the fat that is essential, maintaining the skin's elasticity.
With ETONNE's post-operative care system, we smooth the result and reduce excess flesh for a light body line.

Precautions

Swelling and bruising may occur after surgery, and how long they take to subside varies from person to person. Small scars may remain at the small 2–3 mm openings through which fat is suctioned, and in rare cases bleeding, infection, inflammation, or left–right asymmetry may occur, which may require additional treatment. The skin surface of the suctioned areas may look uneven or bumpy, and if skin elasticity is insufficient, the skin where the fat has been reduced may look saggy. Seroma, a collection of fluid at the surgical site, may develop, or the suctioned areas may feel numb. For the first 24 hours after surgery, wearing a compression garment is recommended; for 1 week after that, it is worn during the day only, and after that, wearing it while resting at home until 1 month after surgery is helpful. Please tell us at your pre-surgery consultation about any medications you take, including blood thinners such as anticoagulants, as well as any medical conditions and whether you smoke. During recovery, please avoid alcohol and smoking and attend follow-up visits as scheduled. Please make your decision after you have been fully informed of the risks and of alternative options. Results and recovery vary from person to person.

FAQ

How is full body liposuction different from partial liposuction?

Full body liposuction suctions several areas of the body in a single surgery to refine the lines and balance of the whole body together, while partial liposuction suctions only the areas you choose, such as the abdomen, thighs, or upper arms. Full body liposuction is performed under general anesthesia with about 1–2 days of hospitalization, while partial liposuction is performed under local or sleep anesthesia and you go home the same day. Which one suits you is decided after examining your fat distribution and skin elasticity.

Does liposuction reduce body weight? Will I gain weight again after surgery?

Liposuction is not a weight-loss treatment; it is a surgery that reduces fat in areas that do not shrink easily with exercise or diet in order to refine the lines of the body. The fat cells that are suctioned out do not come back, but the remaining fat cells can grow larger if you gain weight, so weight management is still needed after surgery. Regular exercise and a healthy diet help maintain the lines of the body, and in the early recovery period we recommend starting with light exercise such as stretching and walking rather than running or strenuous strength training.

How long do I wear a compression garment after surgery?

For the first 24 hours after surgery, wearing a compression garment is recommended; for 1 week after that, it is worn during the day only, and after that, wearing it while resting at home until 1 month after surgery is helpful.

Where will the scars be?

Fat is suctioned through small openings of about 2–3 mm made in the creases where the body folds, so small scars may remain there. In areas without creases, such as the upper arms, the openings are stitched and the stitches are removed after about 7 days. How the scars settle varies depending on your skin condition, so scar laser care is provided according to your progress after surgery.

What are the anesthesia, surgery time, and recovery schedule?

The surgery takes about 4 hours under general anesthesia, and you stay in the hospital for about 1–2 days. Where stitches are placed, they are removed after about 7 days, light exercise is possible from about 3–5 days after surgery, and about one follow-up visit is needed after surgery. How long swelling and bruising take to subside varies from person to person.
