ETONNE REBUILT NOSE SURGERY
Revision Nose Surgery
Also called Revision Rhinoplasty, Secondary Rhinoplasty
Revision nose surgery is a surgery that corrects problems remaining after previous nose surgery, such as a nasal bridge that looks crooked, an implant that moves or shows through, contracture, or a deformed nasal tip. After analyzing how the previous surgery was done and the current condition of the nose, the method is chosen from among replacing or removing the implant and correction using autologous cartilage, donor cartilage, or autologous tissue. At ETONNE in Gangnam, Seoul (Gangnam-daero, Nonhyeon Station), the surgery is performed by board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Kim Harkyoung, Dr. Kim Jaegon, and Dr. Koo Heetae.

When Rhinoplasty Revision Is Necessary
If the nasal bridge appears crooked.
The existing implant is removed and a new implant made to fit the shape is inserted again.
When the implant moves.
The implant moves when it has been placed under the skin instead of under the periosteum. In this case it is corrected by repositioning the implant properly beneath the periosteum.
If the nasal tip is deformed by the implant
After removing the implant, the shape of the nasal tip is made natural using autologous tissue. The cartilage is wrapped with autologous fascia to reduce redness of the nasal tip.
Contracted Nose
The scar tissue inside the nose is softened to release the contracture, and then the cartilage of the nasal tip is straightened. After that, the tip is corrected with your own cartilage or donor cartilage.
When the implant is too obvious
When the implant shows through because the skin is thin, it is corrected by designing autologous dermis or autologous fascia to fit the individual nose shape and inserting the implant wrapped in it.
When the nasal bridge is too high
After removing the existing implant, an implant made to fit the individual's face is inserted to correct the nose to a natural height and shape.
When the nasal tip has become low
Using septal or rib cartilage, a support is built at the nasal tip to make it firm. Combined with tip rhinoplasty, a natural and well-defined nose can be created.
ETONNE Rhinoplasty POINT
01 Tailored Rhinoplasty
We work on the principle of individually tailored surgery. We design by considering the condition and shape
of each person's nose, the harmony of the face and personal taste.
Flaws are minimized and only the strengths are brought out to create the most ideal nose.
02 Named Surgeon System and Dedicated Responsibility
From the surgical plan, the check of the comprehensive examination and the surgery itself to the post-operative progress care,
the designated medical staff in charge carry out 1:1 tailored management throughout.
03 Naturally Beautiful Nose
With the know-how of skilled specialists, the surgery proceeds so that the nose, the center of the face,
is in harmony with the forehead, the cheekbones, the eyes, the chin and the lips.
04 Safe and Responsible Post-Surgery Care
With safety systems inside and outside the operating room, such as a safe anesthesia system and an uninterruptible power system,
we regard safety as the top priority.
POINT 1.
ETONNE’s Anthropometrics
ETONNE measures the detailed structures of the nose and their sizes in depth
and, when necessary, checks even the parts that cannot be seen with the naked eye
through 3D-CT.
It also considers the position and height of the forehead, the position of the chin tip, the glabella and the philtrum,
as well as the shape and line the client wants,
to present a surgical result of high completeness.
One line
a. The line reaching from the glabella to the tip of the nose and its curvature
Two heights
b. The height of the nasal tip c. The height of the glabella
Three angles
d. The angle between the forehead/glabella and the nasal bridge e. The angle between the nasal tip and the columella f. The angle between the columella and the lips
POINT 2.
Optimal Material Selection
That Matches the Patient's Condition and Needs
Septal Cartilage
Harvested from inside the nose, so the harvesting process is easier than with other cartilages
Has a suitable thickness and strength and almost no curvature, so it is easy to shape
Used to build up the nasal tip or the bridge of the nose
Ear Cartilage
The incision is made behind the ear, so the scar lies behind the ear
Its shape resembles the nose and it is round and elastic, so it is easy to build the structure of the nasal tip
Suitable when the amount of septal cartilage is insufficient
Rib Cartilage
Strong support and durability, and a sufficient amount can be secured
Used when the amount of septal or ear cartilage is insufficient, when the nose is very low, or in revision surgery
The most important thing is to safely use
the material that is right for you.
Since the amount of cartilage tissue and the skin elasticity differ from person to person,
ETONNE assesses each patient's condition precisely
and selects the optimal material.
“I will not leave the operating room until his or her nose looks as good as I can make it.”

Surgical Material Selection
Design that Meets Patient Needs
Surgical Detail Design
In rhinoplasty there is no surgical material
that perfectly matches a patient's needs like a single right answer.
The patient's current nasal condition
and various circumstances must be considered
before the final material and surgical method are chosen.
Ahead of rhinoplasty, ETONNE checks and carries out
many things so as not to miss even the smallest detail
about the patient's condition.
The foundation must be firm
and the structure must be systematically designed and built
according to the properties of the materials,
just as a building that will not collapse is raised that way.
In the same manner, with the abundant clinical experience
and surgical know-how that can be applied to a variety of materials,
ETONNE strives for rhinoplasty results that are beautiful
and keep that beauty for a long time,
in any environment and under any condition.
ETONNE's top priority is building trust based on patient safety and satisfaction. From sharing transparent processes before surgery to providing professional care afterwards, ETONNE commits to delivering high-quality medical services.

REBUILT NOSE SURGERY
Precautions
Swelling and bruising may occur after surgery, and how long they take to subside varies from person to person. A scar remains at the incision site, and when rib cartilage (from the crease beneath the chest), fascia (from the temporal area), or autologous dermis (from behind the ear) is harvested, a scar also remains at the harvest site. Regardless of the method, in rare cases bleeding, infection, inflammation, or left–right asymmetry may occur, which may require additional treatment. In revision surgery, what can be corrected depends on the scar tissue left by the previous surgery and the condition of the remaining cartilage and skin, and if an implant is inserted again, the implant may again show through or move, so please tell us at your consultation when and how your previous surgery was done. In the early period after surgery, you may have nasal congestion, a feeling of difficulty breathing, or reduced sensation in the nasal tip, and when rib cartilage is used, the cartilage may warp and change the shape. Please tell us at your pre-surgery consultation about any medications you take, including blood thinners such as anticoagulants, as well as any medical conditions and whether you smoke. During recovery, please avoid alcohol and smoking and attend follow-up visits as scheduled. Please make your decision after you have been fully informed of the risks and of alternative options. Results and recovery vary from person to person.
Who It's For
When the nasal bridge looks crooked or is so high that it looks unnatural
When the implant moves or shows through the skin
When the shape of the nasal tip has changed or the nasal tip has become low because of the implant
When contracture has developed from scar tissue inside the nose
How long after the first rhinoplasty can revision rhinoplasty be done?
Revision nose surgery is done at least 6 months after the first surgery. The exact timing depends on how the previous surgery was done, the current swelling, and how far the scar tissue inside the nose has settled. At ETONNE, we examine how your previous surgery was done and the current condition of your nose, and decide the timing and method of surgery together with you.
In what cases is revision rhinoplasty done?
Revision is considered when the nasal bridge looks crooked, the implant moves or shows through, the nasal tip has been deformed by the implant, contracture has developed, the nasal bridge is too high, or the nasal tip has become low. At ETONNE, we analyze the cause of each problem and then choose the surgical method that suits it.
Can the implant be removed and the nose corrected with autologous tissue?
Yes. Depending on the condition, the existing implant is sometimes removed and the nose corrected with autologous tissue. At ETONNE, when the nasal tip has been deformed by an implant, we remove the implant and shape the nasal tip with autologous tissue, and when the nasal tip has become low, we build a support at the nasal tip with septal cartilage or rib cartilage. If height is needed for the nasal bridge, the implant is sometimes replaced with one made to fit the shape, and the method is decided after an examination.
What happens to scars with revision surgery?
Revision is also usually done as open rhinoplasty, with an incision in the columella, so a scar remains at the incision site, and when rib cartilage (from the crease beneath the chest), fascia (from the temporal area), or autologous dermis (from behind the ear) is harvested, a scar also remains at the harvest site. How the scar settles varies depending on your skin condition, so this is explained after an examination.
What are the anesthesia, surgery time, and recovery schedule?
The surgery takes about 2 hours under local anesthesia or sleep anesthesia, and you go home the same day without hospitalization. Stitches are removed in two stages, after 5 days and after 10 days, daily activities are possible from about 5–7 days after surgery, and about two follow-up visits are needed after surgery. How long swelling and bruising take to subside varies from person to person.
