Precautions
Because the incision is made just below the lower lashes, a scar remains there, and how the scar settles depends on your skin condition and the healing process. If lower blepharoplasty is performed at the same time, swelling and bruising around the eyes may increase. In rare cases bleeding or hematoma, infection, reduced sensation, or left–right asymmetry may occur. Please tell us at your pre-surgery consultation about any medications you take, including blood thinners such as anticoagulants, as well as any medical conditions and whether you smoke. During recovery, please avoid alcohol and smoking and attend follow-up visits as scheduled. Please make your decision after you have been fully informed of the risks and of alternative options. Does it need to be done together with lower blepharoplasty?

How long does the surgery take, and what anesthesia is used?
The surgery takes about 90 minutes, including lower blepharoplasty when it is performed together, under local anesthesia or sleep anesthesia. You go home the same day without hospitalization.
When are the stitches removed, and when can I wear makeup?
Stitches are removed about 5–7 days after surgery, and makeup is possible from about 3 days after surgery. About one follow-up visit is needed to check your progress. How quickly swelling and bruising subside varies from person to person.
How is a midface lift (cheek lift) different from anterior cheek filler?
