ETONNE BALANCED BODY

Body Surgery: Body Lifting

Also called Tummy Tuck

Body lifting is a surgery that removes sagging, loose skin of the abdomen, thighs, arms, and other areas after weight loss or childbirth to refine the lines of the body; depending on the area, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), arm lift, or thigh lift is performed. The surgical method suited to each area and the extent of skin to remove are decided by looking at fat distribution, skin elasticity, and the proportions of the whole body together, and liposuction is combined when needed. At ETONNE in Gangnam, Seoul (Gangnam-daero, Nonhyeon Station), the surgery is performed by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Cho Jeongmok.

More important than the number on the scale is the line of the body.

What matters more than body weight is the line of the body. For a healthy and beautiful figure,
ETONNE analyzes properly from the very start and cares for you thoroughly.

Resilient Body.

Considering various factors such as fat distribution, skin elasticity, overall proportions, and harmony with the body, we design the lines of the body.
With surgery suited to the area you want — abdomen, thighs, arms — we improve sagging, stretched skin and bring back a firm body
and slender lines.

Balanced Body.

Skin stretched after rapid weight loss is hard to reduce with exercise or care alone, so surgery to remove the loose skin is considered.
A board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in body contouring performs the operation. We go beyond simply reducing fat and removing stretched skin,
considering the body's proportions and the overall balance of the body together.

Meticulous surgery, healthy recovery.

A board-certified plastic surgeon with skilled technique and a delicate touch operates swiftly to minimize strain on the body, and we do our best to care for you after surgery for a healthier life.

Surgery time About 2–3 hours
Anesthesia General anesthesia / Sleep anesthesia

Recovery time Walking possible after about 1 day

Reducing fat, filling happiness.

Body contouring is not a complex formed in a short time, so many gather their courage and visit us after long deliberation. From the outside it may look simple — a plastic surgeon examining the body for a beautiful body line — but ETONNE sees it as a field that treats both the body and the mind. Knowing well where the line should tuck in and knowing well where the volume should come out is ETONNE's skill, born of practiced medical technique and a keen sense.

Precautions

Swelling and bruising may occur after surgery, and how long they take to subside varies from person to person. A scar remains at the incision site, and in rare cases bleeding, infection, inflammation, or left–right asymmetry may occur, which may require additional treatment. Because this surgery removes loose skin, the incision line becomes longer depending on the extent of skin removed, and the scar may widen or look prominent. In rare cases the wound may open or take time to heal, and seroma, a collection of fluid at the surgical site, may develop, or the area around the incision line may feel numb. When liposuction is combined, the skin surface of the suctioned areas may look uneven or bumpy. Please tell us at your pre-surgery consultation about any medications you take, including blood thinners such as anticoagulants, as well as any medical conditions and whether you smoke. During recovery, please avoid alcohol and smoking and attend follow-up visits as scheduled. Please make your decision after you have been fully informed of the risks and of alternative options. Results and recovery vary from person to person.

FAQ

Which areas is body lifting performed on?

It is performed on areas where sagging, loose skin is a concern, such as the abdomen, thighs, and arms. Because how loose the skin is and how fat is distributed differ from area to area, the surgical method suited to each area (a tummy tuck, arm lift, or thigh lift) and the extent of skin to remove are decided after an examination.

How is liposuction different from body lifting?

Liposuction is a surgery that reduces fat accumulated under the skin, while body lifting is a surgery that removes sagging, loose skin to smoothly refine the lines of the body. When the skin is very loose, reducing only the fat may leave sagging skin visible, so when needed, liposuction is combined to reduce the fat and the loose skin is removed.

Can loose belly skin and stretch marks after childbirth also be improved?

We suggest combining liposuction with removal of the loose abdominal skin (a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty), and the stretch marks on the skin that is removed are removed along with it. The incision is made below the underwear line, and the extent of removal is decided after examining how loose the skin is. Stretch marks outside the removed area remain.

Where will the scars be?

Because this surgery removes loose skin, scars remain where the incisions are made, and the wider the area removed, the longer the scar. For the abdomen, the incision is made below the underwear line; for the arms and thighs, the incision location differs with the extent of removal and is explained after an examination. How the scars settle varies depending on your skin condition, so scar laser care is provided according to your progress after surgery.

What are the anesthesia, surgery time, and recovery schedule?

The surgery takes about 2–3 hours under general or sleep anesthesia, and you stay in the hospital for about 1–2 days. Stitches are removed after about 7–10 days, walking is possible from about 1 day after surgery, and about 2–3 follow-up visits are needed after surgery. How long swelling and bruising take to subside varies from person to person.
